Ross Revenge - Raffles
RAFFLES & THE DOG KENNEL
Like most places onboard the Ross Revenge the Radio Caroline shop located towards the stern of the ship also has a bit of history of its own ... canine history in this case.

The shop has had a lot of work carried out, both during the Tilbury years and in the years that followed but for for the crew it is still affectionately referred to as the 'Dog Kennel' in memory of the ships dog Raffles.

Raffles became a crew member during the time that the Ross Revenge was being fitted out in Santander and as the story goes was rescued by Peter Chicago in the Port of Solares where apparantly he was found after being thrown into the water by spanish dockers. Raffles was resident onboard the Ross Revenge from 1983-1987 and lived with Peter until he passed away.

Following the collapse of the 300ft mast the Dog Kennel found a new use as home to the tuning equipment required for the ill fated glass fibre Valcom aerial installed on the Stern deck.
